Why is the Department of Agriculture sending form letters to
people that have brought neglect issues to their attention?
That's a good question for the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
I went once with another volunteer to help clean out cages and feed the animals at Pet Rescue, and was literally sickened by the squalid condition of all the animals at this so-called "shelter!" The cats in a large room were so famished, as soon as I opened cans of cat food, they were crying, screaming and crawling up my legs. Most were fighting over the food. I couldn't get it in the dishes fast enough! Many were so sick, they couldn't move, and I had to place plates right next to them. I don't know how often they are fed, but it obviously isn't enough. What kind of shelter doesn't have vets treating the animals on a regular basis. Some cats I saw there were near death. The birds looked horrendous-with giant clumps of hair missing from their bodies. The dogs seemed distressed, they were barking so loudly; many seemed to be in cages too small for them. There didn't seem to be an adequate supply of food either. How has a shelter like this been allowed by the state to remain open for so long, with so many obvious citations? Someone has got to be getting paid to turn a blind eye!! You need to look further into that, as well!
I have RESCUED 3 animals from this supposed rescue. It is a house of horrors. Dale and Penny are animal hoarders. Many attempts have been made by devoted volunteers to shut this place down. If you are there enough, you see it in the eyes of these sick and hurting animals that they would rather be dead than in this place. I will not call it a "shelter" or "rescue" because it is neither. The authorities have been given proof that Dale Armon keeps the donations for herself. She must be paying someone off because she always gets off. It is a crime to allow this place to stay open. The Village has turned a blind eye for many years because they could dump strays there. All the power of government can't find a way to get justice for these poor animals. How sad. Just so sad.
I VOLUNTEERED AT PET RESCUE ABOUT TWENTY YEARS AGO AND IT WAS HORRIBLE THEN , DALE WAS TAMING A LITTER OF RACCOONS AND A CROW , SHE IS CRAZY !
PEOPLE WOULD CALL ABOUT ADOPTING AN ANIMAL AND SHE WAS SO RUDE TO THEM THAT OF COURSE THEY WOULDN'T COME TO THE SHELTER ,SHE WOULDN'T GIVE AN ANIMAL TO ANYONE THAT HAD A JOB EITHER , YOU HAD TO BE HOME ALL THE TIME AND NO KIDS .
SHE NEVER WANTED TO ADOPT OUT ANY ANIMALS AND IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS.
I TOOK MY TWO TEENAGE SONS WITH AND ASKED DALE IF THEY COULD TAKE THE DOGS FOR A WALK SHE SAID "NO , THEY ARE DANGEROUS AND CAN NOT COME OUT OF THEIR CAGES IN THE BASEMENT . THEIR CAGES WERE LIKE JAIL CELLS WITH NO WINDOWS AND THOSE DOGS PROBABLY DIED THERE .
THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF CATS AND MANY WERE IN BAD SHAPE EVEN BACK THEN . EVERY TIME WE WENT THERE THE LITTER BOXES WERE OVERFLOWING LIKE THEY HADN'T BEEN CHANGED FOR A WHILE.
IT WAS HORRIBLE!
ONE TIME ANOTHER VOLUNTEER LET ME IN A ROOM IN THE BACK HOUSE AND THERE WERE REALLY SICK ANIMALS THERE , THEY WERE STACKED IN CAGES , DOGS AND CATS MIXED SO THE CATS HAD TO LISTEN TO BARKING DOGS CONSTANTLY ,I AM SURE EVERY ANIMAL IN THAT ROOM DIED .
THE SAME VOLUNTEER SAID THERE WERE MORE SICK CATS UPSTAIRS BUT
SHE COULD NOT TAKE ME UP THERE BECAUSE THEY WERE DYING.
THIS PLACE HAS BEEN A HELLHOLE FOR ANIMALS FOR A LONG TIME , MOST WOULD BE BETTER OFF DEAD , AT LEAST THEIR SUFFERING WOULD BE OVER .
I HAVE STOPPED THERE MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND IT IS THE SAME , THE ADOPTION ROOM IS SO LOUD WITH LARGE BARKING DOGS
THAT IT IS CLEAR THEY DON,T WANT TO ADOPT OUT ANY ANIMALS .
THE CATS NAILS ARE SO LONG , NEVER BEEN TRIMMED , SOME WERE CURLING UNDER THEIR PADS AND THIS WAS IN THE ADOPTION ROOM .
PLEASE CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!!!
