All of us out here who have dealt with Penny and Dale over the years need to join this effort and put an end to Pet Rescue PERMANENTLY.
I can remember my last night as a volunteer there 18 years ago like it was yesterday. I shed many tears as I made the difficult decision to no longer volunteer at Pet Rescue due to the poor care the animals were getting. I find it amazing that they are still doing this almost 20 years later.
Let's not let this continue any further. These ladies are hoarders who believe they are helping animals yet they are not. I believe proper mental health care would be better than jail time but either way this animal abuse must stop now.
I hope to see many of you Wednesday evening.
I further like the the idea of everyone joining together to stop the abuse. But I really like the deer in the headlights look of the officals of Bloomingdale. Everyone from the top to the bottom in the village knows about the reality of Pet Rescue. To quote an officials comment 2 months ago, ya people complain every year , they clean it up. Well it's not about cleaning it up! I'ts about animals being better off on the street then being denied medical care and suffering.
My daughter volunteered at Pet rescue and we adopted a cat from there. The cat has a respiratory problem. At the time Penny said the cat has a cold, gave it a shot of expired antibiotic which she got from some vet that is her friend and said the cat will be fine. Six years later and meny vet visits later the cat has a chronic respiratory problem because it was never taken care of when the cat was in the shelter in a room filled with 68 other cats. The cat was probably healther when it was a stray. This hell house should definitely be closed down. These animals never did anything to deserve this kind of neglect. People need to wake up & care enough to make sure it gets shut down.
I would just like to point out that Penny was always very rude to the employees/volunteers. We worked in such filth, and got treated like that? Ridiculous. They need to be behind bars. I just remember walking into the cat room, and walking out with my coat covered in green cat snot. It makes me want to cry to know that I was part of this, yet happy to know that just for those few moments that I helped those animals, they were possibly happy and felt good.
